Included with your ALLO Blast router at no extra cost, ExperienceIQ puts you in total control of your home network. Instead of adjusting settings on every individual phone, tablet, and gaming console, you can manage your entire household right from the ALLOIQ app on your phone.
What You Can Do with ExperienceIQ
- 👤 Create Person Profiles: Group all of a family member’s devices under one name so schedules and filters apply everywhere at once.
- 🛡️ Age-Appropriate Filters: Select one-touch age presets (Child, Pre-teen, Teen) or customize content categories.
- 🔒 Safer Browsing: Enforce Google SafeSearch and YouTube Restricted Mode to filter explicit results and mature videos.
- ⏳ App Time Limits: Set daily time allowances on distracting apps like TikTok, YouTube, or Roblox.
- 🌙 Bedtime Schedules: Set automatic internet cut-offs for school nights and bedtime routines.
- ⏸️ Instant Pause & Bonus Time: Freeze internet access for dinner with one tap, or reward good behavior with 30-minute bonus time blocks.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Accessing ExperienceIQ in the App
- Open the ALLOIQ app.
- Tap the ExperienceIQ tile on the Home screen (or tap Services in the bottom menu bar and select ExperienceIQ).
Creating a Profile & Assigning Devices
Setting up a profile lets you control all of someone’s devices under a single umbrella.
- Tap the People icon in the bottom menu bar and tap the + (Plus) icon.
- Type in the person’s Name and pick a profile avatar icon, then tap Save.
- Tap Yes, Assign Devices (or check the boxes next to their phone, tablet, laptop, gaming console, etc.).
- Tap Save.
Setting Up Content & Safety Filters
Block inappropriate content and enforce safe search across all devices in a profile.
- In ExperienceIQ, tap People Restrictions and select the profile.
- Security Controls: Tap Security and toggle on:
- Google SafeSearch & YouTube Restricted Mode
- Block DNS over HTTPS (DoH) & Block iCloud Private Relay (prevents bypassing your filters)
- Age & Category Filters: Tap Content and select an age preset (Child 0–8 yrs, Pre-teen 9–12 yrs, or Teen 13–18 yrs).
(You can also manually toggle categories under Entertainment & Leisure, Privacy & Security, or Sensitive Content). - Tap the X (Close) icon to save and return.
Setting App Limits & Blocking Specific Websites
- To Set Daily App Limits:
- Under the person’s profile restrictions, tap Apps.
- Type the name of the app (e.g., TikTok, YouTube, Roblox) and select it from the list.
- Choose your rule:
- 🚫 Block: Completely prevents access to the app.
- ✅ Always Allow: Allows full access regardless of category rules.
- ⏱️ Allow for Limited Time: Enter the maximum daily time allowed (e.g., 1 hour 30 mins).
- Tap the X (Close) icon when finished.
- To Block or Allow Specific Websites (URLs):
- Under restrictions, tap Websites.
- Type the website domain name (e.g., example.com) and tap Add.
- Select Block or Always Allow, then tap the X (Close) icon.
Scheduling Bedtimes & Offline Hours (Time Limits)
Automatically turn off internet access at bedtime or during study hours.
- In ExperienceIQ, tap Time Limits and select the desired profile.
- Choose your schedule type:
- Every Day: Sets the same daily access window (e.g., Allow internet 7:00 AM – 8:30 PM; shut off outside those hours).
- Custom: Allows different hours for each day of the week (e.g., Earlier cut-off on school nights, later on weekends).
- Set your Start Time and End Time, then tap Save.
Pausing Internet & Granting Bonus Time
- Instant Pause (Dinner / Family Time):
- For a Person: Tap the profile on your Home screen and tap Pause Internet (freezes Wi-Fi on all their assigned devices). Tap Unpause Internet when ready to restore access.
- For a Single Device: Go to Devices, tap the device, tap the menu icon, and select Pause Internet.
- Rewarding Bonus Time:
- If a profile has reached its daily limit or is during scheduled offline hours, tap Bonus Time on their profile to grant internet access in 30-minute increments.
Setting Global “Network Restrictions” (Unassigned Devices)
Protect guest and general household devices that aren’t tied to a specific person.
- In ExperienceIQ, tap Network Restrictions.
- Select an age group preset or customize Security, Content, Apps, and Websites using the same steps above.
Note: Rules assigned to a specific Person Profile will always override these global Network Restrictions.
Good to Know
- App Caching Note: ExperienceIQ blocks active internet access to apps. However, apps like TikTok or Instagram store (“cache”) previously loaded videos on the device’s internal storage. To remove previously downloaded videos, clear the app cache directly on the device.
