How to connect to the 5GHz network?

If your device is within range, you may be able to switch over to your 5Ghz network for faster service. Grab your device, go to your internet settings, and look for your wireless network name that ends in a 5G. Hint: Use the same password for both the 2.4 and 5G networks.

If your ALLO service was installed after June 2018, it’s possible that will only see one network in your list of available Wi-Fi networks. If that’s the case for you, this network is considered “unified” and it includes technology called smart-steering. Translation? It will automatically switch between your 2.4 and 5G networks depending on which network will provide the best experience per device and location in your home.

If you have additional questions regarding your wireless networks, please don’t hesitate to give us a shout at 866.481.2556 or submit a ticket to our team for assistance.
